ICS Course

Im not sure if this is the right place to post but I was wondering if anybody could help...
My girlfriend paid for a City & Guilds course from ICS in December as they were offering 50% off.
The course eventually arrived in January and she got started straight away, reading through 293 pages of the course and then getting started on the actual work.
She had been working on it for 2 weeks when she got a phone call from ICS to say that they no longer offer City & Guilds courses and that they have cancelled her course.
To make things worse they gave her an ultimatum of "return everything back in 10 days or we will not refund you"!! This cost nearly £10 as they wanted it sent back recorded delivery!
They are also still advertising this course on their website!
I was wondering if they can actually do this......the fact that the course was paid for and that my girlfriend has wasted two weeks working on it seems very unfair!

Hello mattknight
I'll move your thread to the 'Employment, Jobseeking & Training' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

It would seem she had a contract with them - that they would provide tuition. (What would happen about sitting exam?)
They are therefore breaking their contract. I would have thought that they should refund all the fees paid and not retrieve the learning material - or be told they can collect the material if they want it after they have given the 100% refund.0 -
Thanks for your reply. ICS seem to be ignoring us at the moment!0

has ICS gone into administration aswell ?
i would say she is entitled to a full refund as they are not providing a course with certificate stated.
i would get this done asap0
