A dehumidifier is a dream item for any car owner who's serious about keeping it in top order: if you own a steel garage, keeping moisture at bay is a serious issue.
Setting this DD122FW-MK2 dehumidifier up couldn't be simpler. Just pull it out of the packaging, plug it in and away it goes. There's an auto mode, which means that you really can just turn it on and leave it to work away. It was hard to see how much juice it used up, but it is claimed to be very efficient, though desiccant-type units such as this one are not as efficient as compressor-type ones. However, the purchase price is not exactly extortionate - especially compared to the cost of replacing a pair of corroded sills…
The speed at which this unit sucks water from the air is very surprising. The manufacturer claims that it can remove up to 7 litres of water per day. Certainly, after an overnight session in the garage, the two-litre tank was filled. A pipe can be fitted to drain directly outside should you have a suitable hole in the wall.
The DD122FW-MK2 Dehumidifier is available from Meaco UK priced £139.99. Visit www.meaco.com for further information.
GOOD NEWS! We have a DD122FW-MK2 Dehumidifier to give away.
