I was it a situation at work where we were told we had to do on-call and was a bit rushed. I thought I would do it and if I was correct in my thinking I would opt out. I do not want to be on standby 24/7 sometime twice a month for £96 for that month.

Unfortunately by doing it that once stated that I accepted this agreement and I now have to continue doing it. Be carefull what you accept as there might be no going back. Aslo if she leaves or there is 'job reevaluation' it may be futer detrimental an you may not get your job back.

Persaonally I would want my current salery. If this has effedcted you in any way speak to you GP especially with the baby due as the extra stress, insecurity and undermining your ability.

I would not worry about the legal cover too much as many are ripp-offs. I had one from a big agency and found that they only started paying out after 3 months and it only covered one year unemployment - 9 months.
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)
  • Look at the following website under employment: www.adviceguide.org.uk

Find your local citizens advice bureau in the phone book and phone or visit them, make an appointment. Take all relevant paperwork with you.

Do you have access to free legal help with either your home, car or credit card company. If so, phone them and say that you need the name of a local employment lawyer.

    Good Luck
