Sounds like your really prepared, I personally would mention you have been researching on the schools website also the internet mention the ones you have found, say you dont know alot about them but you are interested to develop your knowledge on them it at least shows you have an interest and have prepared something and made an effort
good luck ***** on the road to debt freedom *****

You might also want to look at "extended schools" which covers usage of schools by the whole community.
As part of your PA role you may need to use SIMS,the database used by schools. There are simple tutorials on the web which will give you an idea of the basics(if you dont already know).0 -

Whilst you don't want to overstate your knowledge, this really wouldn't be a good tactic at an interview, particularly for such a general area as Equal Opps.0 -
Well Ive been for the interview and everything I swotted up on they never asked! Interview with the Head and Governors (separately) then typing and spelling test. They did put me in a lot of scenarios but other than that didnt ask me about all the other stuff. Felt confident until I met a few of the other interviewees so dont feel quite so confident now. The only thing I never mentioned was I have 2 weeks holidays booked in September which is not part of the schools hols. I didnt tell them because firstly I dont think I'll get the job and secondly because if I did I dont want to jeapordise my chance. How would I get round that one if I get called to a 2nd interview or worse an offer they'll ask why I never mentioned it. Also my son's at the school and I haven't discussed his time off yet with the school. My husband was allocated these holidays last year as they are not taking on summer temps this year so no staff hols between jun-aug so we had no choice. In my current job thats not a problem but in a school it is. Now I feel worried I should have mentioned it.0

If you weren't asked on the application form or at the interview, then I don't think you need worry about not mentioning it - as it could be one point against you if it was a close run thing with another candidate.
September must be a particularly busy time for schools - given all the new pupils and teachers.
It is also a shame that your son will lose time out of his school year. How do you think they will respond to that request when you make it? It could be even more uncomfortable for you if you were in post.0 -
I'd wait until you see if you're offered the job but I'd think you'd need to cancel your holiday if you are. To have a new member of staff take holiday outside the school break is bad enough, but to take a child out as well is going to be absolutely impossible.0
