False Economy with Miele Dishwasher

Hi New Poster.
Bought a Miele dishwasher 6 years ago, despite the ridicule of my mates who thought I was mad to pay nearly £800.
It broke down recently. I had wonderful service from Miele, they were very efficient, prompt, and courteous.
However they charged me £310 for a replacement control unit, which was evidently damaged by a faulty connection to the inlet pump.
The guy who fixed it said it should have a 10 to 15 years lifespan and this was 'an unusual fault'.
With hindsight, I could have bought a decent mid ranged unit, replaced it and had a decent weekend break for me and the wife, for the same money.
My previous Hotpoint dishwasher lasted longer than this one did. I even managed to get £90 for it when I sold it.

So whose fault was it? It sounds like it was connected badly, and that led to the damage, hardly the fault of the appliance.
If the appliance itself was at fault then they shouldn't have charged you for repair, same goes if it was connected by an engineer. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0
