Mortgage Express nationalised

Letter received today from my FSA 'mypersonalfinances' who set up my Equity Release in 2007 advising that Mortgage Express were nationalised last year and now are no longer lending to new or existing customers. My advisor is offering a free review service to look for another company to take over the LIfetime Morgage and possibly at a better rate of interest curently 5.99%. I have yet to check with ME to find more information re' the permanence of their decision as changing to another company would of course incur substancial new charges. Any info would be most welcome, I feel as if we've just given away our house for one third of its present value.
p.s. ME have waived the early repayment penalties! how kind.
