Can You recommend a venue to hire for grown up birthday party - GLOUCESTERSHIRE AREA

Hi, Im looking for a venue to hold a party for ME ME ME in either Gloucestershire/Warwickshire, that sort of direction, in September 09.
I live in northern Ireland but all my family and friends are in England, so Ive looked at hiring a cottage and even found one that would be happy for me to have 40 careful friends over for tea, but it is really expensive when I add the cost of my flights on to get there.
I have been looking on the internet for a hall, village hall or tea room that I could hire and do a buffet. I'd happily make sarnies if i could find a good cheapish venue, but am happy to pay for a buffet if its a cafe.
I'd like somewhere that is a bit different, or special or has character - looked at Stratford upon Avon, Broadway, Cheltenham and surrounding villages.
If anyone can recommend somewhere I would be really grateful!!!!:D
