Where do you do your crafting?

I was just looking around my bedroom at all my boxes, crates etc full of craft stuff and was thinking to myself that it would be lovely to have a room of my of my own to just have everything to my fingertips when needed, I always have to rummage for everything.
Having a coffee and looking at the miserable weather outside in the garden I thought how wonderful it would be to have a shed at the bottom of the garden just for myself to go and create when ever I wanted without having to clear everything away for meals etc,
Has anyone here ever had a sewing room/craft room in the shed?
How practical was it?
Does all of your equipment get damp, mouldy or dirty?
Do you get a problem with spiders everywhere?:o
Can you insulate or draughtproof and dampproof?
Is there any other questions drawbacks I haven't thought of?
Are you still in the shed?
So many questions for one cup of coffee!!!!!!

I may be many years before my remaining DD1&2 finally fly the nest so I am pondering the idea! I was thinking it ony need be big enough for a table (door sized) shelves for storage, table/desk for sewing machine kettle for coffee haha that kind of thing hmmmmm now Iv'e gone off on so many tangents I will never get the housework done!!
If I had a craft shed I wouldn't ever come out hahaPucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0 -

Oh, you sound just like me!!
I used to have our big spare room as my sewing/craft room then had the twins 17months ago so chucked hubby out of the smaller 'study' which is now my craft room:p
I do allsorts - make clothes/soft furnishings, drawing and painting. I did a couple of creative craft courses at our local art college a couple of years ago and that got me into silk painting / batik.
I would love a shed but am thinking that if we do have another little one that I may do the loft out instead!!! (with a one way ladder:D )
My hubby goes mad though - along the lines of ' shouldn't all this rubbish go in the loft:eek: ' and 'you can't possibly NEED it all' - like I say 'darling, tis not a question of need but a question of want'!!!0 -
Have just had a look at your blog - your organisation is far better than mine!!
Love the cupcakes!0 -
Even though I have the house to myself a lot of the year (and got a large summerhouse full of clutter) I still doing my crafting sitting on the bed. I've got some supplies in the bedroom and the rest behind the sofa!0

Normally the dining table - but im in the process of boxing up all my uni stuff so I will have a lovely big desk space in my room and wont have to keep clearing stuff away whilst half dry for dinner

I did think about the study but for some reason its the coldest room ever
I have a question - How would you power your sewing machine in the shed?? ours doesnt have power
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0 -

An extension lead from the house or, an outside plug - we have one on the side of the shed for the lawnmower!0 -
