Recommendations for double glazing and central heating in edinburgh area?

Hi, if anyone can recommend any companies for double glazing or central heating? that'll be greatly appreciated.

Also has anyone had any experience with Viewforth glazing? I got a quote for 4 windows and a door which i think is reasonable, but i not too sure if the quality is any good. If anyone can recommend them, then i might go ahead and order. thanks

Can't recommend any double glazing places but I would definitely steer clear of Anglian Windows. :mad:
We had them recommended to us but they were hashy, left the pins in the walls holding up the window sills (only found that out when son scraped his hand when closing his curtains), took huge chunks of the outside wall away when replacing the window and left a lot of mess behind them!! We had been told that before they left they would clean up, explain if anything was not quite finished and would take care not to damage the property in any way. Absolute cr*p! When I complained about the mess and damage I was told it was probably my children who had damaged the outside of the house and the tradesmen could only leave the house the way they found it Am definitely not house proud but I take exception to a stranger insinuating that my house is filthy and that my children would wreck the outside of their house!!
Do yourself a favour, ask Viewforth for details of previous customers and then visit them. Have a look at the windows and if you're brave, approach the owners and ask what they thought of the workmanship and the installers. Whatever you do though, leave Anglian alone. :eek:

I've used F gray plumbing for a full central heating system last year and they were very good - actually came in under their quote, worked pretty much solidly ( I was around so could see they weren't taking 15 tea breaks a day!) etc etc.

I would certainly recommend them

We used the Combi Boiler Company & were very happy.

They did our whole house in a day! They had a team of about 8 guys who just came in & started early.

They were also a lot, lot cheaper than the other quotes we had.

I've had Lochinvar do windows and put in french doors in two separate houses now, and found them very reliable. The work is good, they clean up pretty well, and the salesman we've dealt with is lovely!

We have had Farleys do one window and were very happy. They are about to do our conservatory too. Came recommended by a friend.

Window wise, custom joinery at roseburn are excellent, they have done 5 jobs that I know of and everyone is really happy. I gave them the keys to my property while I was on holiday and expected the place to be like a bombsite, when I came back it was immaculate, they had tidied as they went, I was so impressed.

Central heating - All things Gas, very happy with their service.
