50th B'day present 4 mum off dad!

Hello
I hope you guys can help my dad think of a good present for my mums 50th birthday.
He hasn't a clue what to get her as she is very hard to buy for and will let you know if she doesnt like it! He said he could reel a list off of the things she doesnt want - dark chocolate, flowers, lily of the valley perfume etc.
He's tried asking her but she doesn't really want or need any thing. The problem is this she is very independent (she's organised her own party) and if he doesnt end up getting her anything she'll never let him live it down.
I've brought tickets for her, me and my mama to go and see West Side Story at the theatre which I know she will enjoy. She is quite a young trendy mum, she enjoys being pampered and clothes. Although he paid for her to go to a health spa a few xmas's ago and she never got round to going, so that was a waste of money.
Any ideas please

I'd arrange for her to visit a spa maybe on the day of her party or a pamper session to get her nails and hair done for the party.
Then, the only thing I can think of is a beautiful piece of jewellery so she has a momento of the occasion. Or maybe organise something for her. My mum is also very independent and always organises her own things. However, my dad organised a weekend at the races for her in one of the best hotels and she adored the fact that someone had gone to all that trouble for her.
HTH and let us know how your dad got on

How about booking a personal shopper at her favorite store (John Lewis or Debenhams) with £s, vouchers. Followed by lunch - hair & makeup.
Don't ask her just book it - then she is committed.
Or a weekend away with the immediate family - maybe with an activity that no one has tried before. But again don't ask for her input just fish around to ensure she is free that 'wkd'0 -
Sounds to me like she should have a huge bucket of flowers and he should organise a little holiday for them. Failing that then he could just give her the munny!xXx-Sukysue-xXx0

Thanks for all your good ideas. I've passed them onto my dad along with the following ideas off friends:
Orient Express day trip
Hot air balloon flight
Ladies day at Ascot
Anglea - unfortunetly she doesn't like crafts 'hasn't got time'0 -
How about a photo of the whole family?
Is your dad good at saying how he feels? How about he write her a letter poem or even the story of them...how they met ,dated , etc.?
A 50 things I love about you list
Take her for a meal near to where they first met
My mum has always wanted to drive a train - is there anything she has longed to do?
