are you gonna tell me how much its worth now as im still worried about my own0 -
Hi nervousmother.
My OH's car was valued at £2500. It was a bit more in Parkers, but the OR asked condition, and general state of the car. Which is not great, and it needs some tires and a service, and there are scuffs on each corner of the vehicle.
There must of been a small amount of equity in it as the OR asked if we could get hold of any money to buy the interest back, but as obviously we haven't, then she agreed that we could keep it, so musn't of been worth there while taking it??
nervousmother if you need a car for work and school tell them this and you will be fine. They asked how far OH needed to travel, nursery 2miles, school 3miles in other direction, and then to work which is past our house again. Even if they take your car, they should/will let you have a car of less value. Maybe others can help me here too.
p.s. Did i tell you that each corner scuff was done by the wife pulling into our drive?!! How can that happen?BR 14th Jan 2009

thats great news also i guess it means hopefully me & hubby will be able to keep our shared car when we finally take the plunge to go BR. i just went to check the value on parkers n you have to pay?
well for something similar on ebay my car is worth around £500 plus my car needs some repairs.0 -
I will check on parkers to see how much mine is worth, its not in great condition and i found out this morning the sun roof leaks :-( it is prob valued at around £2k, it is automatic as thats all i can drive.. cant see me finding a car suitable for £500, I work about 8 miles away but have to leave the office to visit clients during the day so if i dont have a car i dont have a job, the thought of driving something that is likely to break down... noticed the day of your BR mine was 6TH Jan but I wont be having the telephone OR interview until the 2nd feb... Wish that interview was over for me too... need to know what the future holds...0

Sorry nervousmother. I think you miss understood me. If your car is worth around 2K you should be fine. Im not sure how it works, but i thnk the £500 was over what they would alow for a car. Others will have to help me here, but i think if they took the our car and gave you there maximum allowance for another car, then there would be £500 equity, so by paying that, or someone else paying it, then there happy??
Dont think i explained that very well, hpe you understand?:oBR 14th Jan 2009
