Got any credit left on anything? Although some OR's frown,so you might get a few stern words and some are ok with this.On the whole most OR's turn a blind eye to the use of credit to pay for bc fees,so maybe that could be a possibilty . Any family member willing to lend it to you?. If your debts are less than £15,000 you could wait until April and take a Debt Relief Order which is similar to a bankruptcy but costs £100 instead of £345/£495.0

Possible help with bankruptcy costs / fees
There are a number of charities that may help with bankruptcy costs and fees depending on eligibility BUT due to increased numbers of people filing for bankruptcy some funds are now refusing applications on the basis of this...worth trying all though (examples below).- Severn Trent Trust Fund and other water trusts
- EDF Energy Trust
- Royal British Legion
- Some Trade Unions
- Turn2Us enables you to search for charities

You have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting a loan or grant from any of those utility companies or indeed the that website listed previously. I wasted so much time asking.
Yes I did go bankrupt almost 4 weeks ago (at last) but only because the tax credit owed to me was paid at the end of may and the pressure from inland revenue was unbearable.
Its been an 18 month struggle, but Community law service (formerly welfare rights) made it very easy indeed.
For those of you who are in dire financial straits, go to these people FIRST. Save that £360 for your day of petition and just do it...............:eek:0 -
Hi,
Congrats on yr br. I bet that has relieved the pressure somewhat. With regards to getting the fees together I thinkmany ppl underestimate what the CAB can do. I was put in touch with the Association of Chartiable Organisations who have helped me through. The took my details then put me in touch with 4 charities that I had a connection with. I went with one that was able to do a joint application. Everything has been confirmed and we are just waiting for the cheque. It has taken 3 mths but nothing compared to the year it has taken us to try & save the funds - every £50.00, £100.00 put by ended up going on something else.

No you read that right.
You can apply for a one off grant to your energy company for the £360 and you can get the court fee of £159 waived from the court by getting an up to date letter from the DWP stating you are in reciept of one of the benefits they accept.
The major utilities companies do it, EDF British Gas Scottish Power etc.
They all have a fund called the Bankruptcy fund, you can approach any of them under severe hardship and get a grant.44lb off and 13 to go.:j0 -
Here BB - what are you doing up so early!!!
But although it was a struggle to find the money I am glad that you got there in the end.0 -
congratulations on finding the money. i ended up having to get a crisis loan from the social for my br fees. alot of the utilities and charities have put a limit of £15,000 worth of debt before you can apply for their help, suppose to make people who owe less to go for a dro instead.0
