RBS Problems

Please can someone advise me, yesterday I received a letter from the about anothe £240 in interest they were adding, so I rang and said you already know I am bankrupt as of 05/08/08 why the letter.

They said they will send letters until I am discharged but wouldn't guarantee they would stop then either, also because they cannot locate my ex (it is a joint account) then it will show until cleared. I will not be able to have my named cleared even after bankruptcy or 6 years because they will be persuing him.

So I will have this forever going bankrupt was a waste of time, will I ever be free of them.

HELP:mad:

The fiirst bit is due to a change in the law, that is banks must send a statement out on any account now, monthly i believe, and as the account is not actually written of until the end of your BR they have to comply with the law and send these statements until then.

But dont worry your liabilty ended on the date of your BR, and they are not allowed to enter anything against YOU post discharge, most bank staff dont have a clue how BR works
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

Tell your OR you are still being pursued, if you are. With a bit of luck they will "have a word". ;)

It is also twaddle about it showing until cleared. If they have defaulted that account then that is removed from your credit reference file six years later, whether they like it or not.

  • They are not actually asking for payments, or at least it sounds that way, so is not being persued.

its just the computer ticking over untill the account is finaly removed

Quite possibly. I just assumed they were pursuing.;)

Second comment still stands though. That was a big fib or an ignorant member of staff.

    Im going with ignorant:p

it wont hurt for the OP to confirm they have not asked for any payment within the statement, this will be a standered template, so may thinking about it, if so it is not really the banks fault probebly, just something no one thought of with the new statement laws

The lady did ask if I was calling to pay after all the security questions, before she said they would just keep sending them.
They are sending them to the wrong address anyway as I moved in november, do I have to tell them do you think, did tell OR.
Apart from that thanks to all your replies much appreciated.
