Cleaning stuff is from instore and in the GC budget. Toothpaste, mouthwash and OH's deo normally included in GC budget as bought in tesco. Razor blades not included, OH has electric razor.
My toiletries are from Lush but i get staff discount and got loads of free stuff in the 'never mind the bankers' promo in Jan so not v expensive and worth it imo!
Toilet rolls, I bought enough in Jan for the year in makro when on offer!0 -
soapnuts couldn't cope with man smells or cricket whites.
Use own brand washing liquid - use half and add some soda crystals in a sep dosing ball.
Don't use fabric conditioner - my machine didn't like it - but white vinegar works well.........:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Cycling my machine always throws a fit when i use softner its not a cheap machine either but to be honest after a couple of weeks we never really noticed the difference anyway so yet more money saved ;-D:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Hi, havent had chance to read through all thread as yet, so sorry if already asked! How often do you do your shop? My OH and I detest food shopping! We go to the market now for our fruit/veg/meat, each week, which we dont mind, just hate the supermarkets, horrible places! Just wondered if anyone shops monthly, and if they do, do you end up spending more? We were thinking of just getting a load of meat/fish each month and sticking it in the freezer, going to B&M, home bargains and supermarket once a month also for all the rest, cereals, pasta, rice, cat food (!) etc. Then just need to nip to market for fruit/veg, milk bread etc. Would be interested in how other ppl do their shopping. I was thinking this way would be stress free and cheaper, or am i kidding myself?!0

Hi Natc
We're a family of 2 adults and 2 children (7 & 1) and our food budget is for 4 weeks at a time. I tend to do a big online shop with Asda (After making some rough meals plans) for all the tinned, dried goods, cartons, bottles, frozen, nappies etc, toiletries and cleaning then go once of twice a week for fresh stuff like milk, bread, fruit/veg, yoghurt etc.
I find this works well for me as i dont have to be loading the car with all the heavy stuff and have a well stocked storecupboard to start me off for the month. The money that is then left over from the budget after the online shop is then divided into 4 for fresh stuff each week.

Thanks kate, appreciate that. Yes, its helped, i will be giving this a go. We both hate shopping, its laborious, boring! Waste of time! I know it needs doing, but when ya both work full time, and i know other people will feel the same, going supermarket shopping on a weekend is the last thing ya wanna do! At least if we only go once a month, we will have a list of what we need and zoom around, and then not have to go again for another month :j lol. I will also be finding the meal planning section aswell, we end up having same boring meals all the time, week in week out, and with a bit of planning, should be able to come up with healthy, cheaper meals, with less stress! lol.
Thansk very much :T0 -
Hi:hello:
This is my first post. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 young children and 2 dogs. We currently spend £400 per month on our food and all the cleaning and alcohol etc. We need to cut this figure down and would appreciate any advice you could give us. If I am in the wrong place then if you could point me to the right thread that would be great.
Thanks:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
