Credit report question and defaults

My credit report currently shows 3 defaults on credit cards (not good I Know!). However, one has been paid off (satisfied on the account) and the other 2 relate to the same card. Can I get one removed?
One is by Barclaycard (yet it was a monument card?) the other is by Cabot who now own the debt? (well fire do)
Another thing is that the numbers i.e. how much the default was for are different? (the barclaycard default says one, Cabot another and the default notice from monument another???)

From what I understand (very limited) but your defaults stay on record for 6 years.
I imagine that the caboot card was 'defaulted' and then you started to pay again and 'defaulted' for a second time.
If, however, you think these defaults are incorrect, you can contact the credit report people (which ever one it is) and request a note be added. Also might be worthwhile writing to the company directly.LBM May 2007 -£20584!!! (£18k is ex-husbands-nice guy, eh? )

The Barclaycard was passed to Cabot and both defaults are for the same card. The both went on credit file on the same day. So its 2 defaults for the one card?
I'm probably going to CCA it any way and go from there.0 -
Hi there,
I have also got 3 default notices on my credit file! I have heard that somewhere on this site are template letters which can help in getting the default notices removed!!!! Am desperatly trying to find them as they are all paid off!! One of my friends has just done this and she got her default changed to satisfactory??? Martin if your reading this pls pls a little help here!!!0 -
Does she not mean settled? That means that the debt has been repaid, but the default will remain on file for 6 years.0

No as in the default was removed from the file!! apparently all this requires is for the company to write to the credit file company requesting the staus be changed!!
Martin apparently assisted her in doing this and she is going to show me how it was done, she got the templates for this from this site!! I can't find them and there was no time for her to show me today!! she may bring in the paperwork tomorrow! Hopefully0 -
MORE INFO:-
Apparently the default can be removed if they have no signature from you agreeing to the default?? or if it was not sent by recorded delivery?? This was her argument??
Any Info greatly appreciated!0 -
In my case I think I might be able to get one removed (as there are 2 defaults to the same debt) but don't know how to do this!
Any help appreciated!0
