coop savings account

Do you think I will be able to get a coop savings account now I am discharged? they blew me out a couple of months ago, even though I have a cashminder account.

  • This is one of the things I am finding hard about br, I now have a visa electron card. Why is it that some people will not take a payment from it. It is money that is there, if I am wanting to pay over the phone etc they will see there and then that it has gone through. In my opinion after what I have just gone through for all these years companies should have refused my credit cards and accepted only payments from my debit card. Seems that it is all wrong and the country does not want us to learn and better ourselves.

With regards to a future savings account why are people refused when all they want to do is save money so they do not struggle again and regrettably go back to borrowing.

Is it just me that feels like this.

Its because most companies think bankrupts either discharged or not are an untrustworthy bunch

  • I made a mistake. I got into debt never with the intention of going br.

I only wanted to pay my final council tax payment over the phone with my electron, surely that is the right way to do it. That was my money that I had earned, why is it ok to pay with the credit cards money and not my own.

Now I am on the other side of br I feel it is all wrong. I have only been br 7 weeks do I have to wait to apply to the co-op for a visa debit card so that I will not get refused in the future.

   , bad one today.
  • I totally agree with you I tried this morning to use my electron card without any luck I would have thought a garentee of money is better than a may be
  • Ok I'm not 100% certain with this as I'm new but I thought Visa Electron need to actually go through a swipe machine, I have a pre paid Paypal Visa card and on the back and it says electronic use only.......

So I don't think people are refusing because of BR but because they can't take payments off them..........

Electronic use only means that the card cannot be used through a manual swipe machine (i.e. the device that uses paper slips and produces carbon copies). That is why the cards do not have raised numbers like ordinary debit or credit cards. So it has to be used in a chip and pin machine or by swiping the magnetic strip.
