Hello I go BR on 12 Feb, I was wondering if anybody has gone thru BR with British Gas as their Supplier, Just want to know what to expect. Should I ring them after BR? How will they know to put my account back to nil? I dont want to pay them monies owed for the simple fact that they are robbing me blind, DD now 160 a month.
Thanks

Hi keepmyhouse me again lol. Don't like to see unanswered posts. Personally I would switch suppliers prior to BR but that's just my opinion. Powergen and EDF have been recommended to me. British Gas do not sound BR friendly at all xxI cant change the past, but the future is mine to play with!

Hi, we went br in Oct and british gas was included in our bankruptcy. We rang after the date and were told that because both of us were br we had to have a prepayment meter fitted. We are still waiting for this to happen, the meter fitters are exceptionally busy at the moment, (surprise surprise). In the meantime we are keeping money back ready to pay bill when we finally do get it put in although they have said that we can add the money owed onto the meter.
We would have preferred to switch supplier but we are in rented accomodation and landlord wouldn't let us switch.

I've been told that too but when I recently phoned British Gas to pay a bill, they already knew about my bankruptcy and said someone would phone to discuss. The bloke on the phone thought that the money due up to the date of my bankruptcy would be written off and the account simply put into my wife's name. I hope he was right.completemess wrote: »British Gas do not sound BR friendly at all xx0 -
