in Cutting tax
Hi There,
Random thought whilst looking at forum. I am starting uni as a student
nurse in sept and will receive a nhs bursery. I will be finishing my part time job just before because the bursery will replace what I presently earn. The plan is to not to have to work as Uni, Placements, and family should take up most of my time(married with 1 child.)At some point in the future will I be able to claim back the tax I will have to pay from April until Sept as I only earn a couple of thousand more than my tax allowance. Thanks for looking,I know its a mile off but like to ask whilst its on my mind.

Yes I would have thought so as the bursary is not classed as taxable income. Have a look on the forums in www.studentnurse.org.uk - there is a section on bursaries etc. Good luck with the course - I'm starting my nurse training at Northampton on 2nd Feb .0

Yes you will be able to claim it back. You will need to call or write to your employer's tax office and tell them your circumstances and that you've stopped working. You can do it as soon as the tax year finishes and your P45 should be enough proof for them to issue it.0
