Questions about Curry Queen's curry sauce

Hi Alex - I don't know this particular recipe but later on do you add in tomatoes and/or tomato puree? I ask because I make a couple of recipes which start with boiling up onions, garlic and ginger and they do turn a strange blue-green colour! If you add tomatoes later, the sauce will turn orange/red. Honest! Good luck.0

Ooh sorry - just realised I answered a query intended for someone else! Will remove it if I can work out how to ......0

I don't thnk curry queen still posts on here so the OP would have had a long wait if you hadn't replied.:T
I remember someone else posting ages ago to say her curry had gone green and she was panicking till curry queen said it was normal at that stage."This site is addictive!"

Did you use red onions? I did and at the onion/garlic/ginger stage it looked liked squid ink
When the redder things were added later it went a nice deep red so don't worry
I'm going to due another batch in a weeks time so I'm looking forward to using ordinary onions and seeing if there is a difference :j

I used normal onions - must have been quite a weird colour with red ones!0

Ive made this a few times and that stage does look rather iffy, mine was a grey/green very non discript colour. the recipe turns out ok though, its a really good one too.

I'm so pleased I read this thread. I made some of the curry sauce mix last - bottled some, and froze some, and mine was green until I added tomatoes.0

Ive made this without any oil and it's is still good, only healthier. It's possible to make a WW 0 point veg curry
