I wonder if anyone can help??

When attempting to rent a house recently my partner and myself undertook a credit check.

My partners failed as there was a CCJ for a loan he had taken out of over 3,000. He has never had a loan or a credit card and has been with the same bank since he was 15 so this came as a huge shock to both of us!

After taking some advise it seems he needs to find out where the loan was taken out and to do this he needs to do a credit check.

Seems simple but all the online facilities for credit checking only seem to accept visa or credit cards. he can't upgrade his card due to the ccj he has against him!

Can anyone advise of anywhere that can do this check with a visa electron card? Are you able to do this in your local bank branch maybe?

You can write to each credit reference agency and for £2 each get a paper copy of your file.

Each agency has details on their websites.
