Can't book a BR appointment that far in advance?!

Hello All
Just called my local county court (that was nerve racking alone!) to see what system they operate. I have to book an appointment, and I said I was hoping to go BR end of March (this is the soonest I'll have the fees) and she said it was too far in advance to book so I would have to call back end of Feb. Is that standard for all courts? She said the next available date was 16th Feb, but that's too soon for me.
The court itself was Brighton.

Sounds about right.
The problem with a booking system, is that it can get booked up for a long time ahead if you allow it to. So people who need appointments cannot get one for a long time. Then, these booked up appointments are neglected by some who do not phone to cancel, so you then end up on the day with slots that were booked months ago, but are now empty when they could have gone to someone else.
Some courts offer a sit and wait system, which brings its own problems if 50 people turned up in one go!0 -

Thanks skylight, that makes sense. Hopefully if I call back at the end of Feb, I'll be able to get an appointment for the end of March then. Fingers crossed!0 -
Must be a little frustrating for you pinkbabycakes. I suppose once you've decided you want to go bankrupt, you want to do it as soon as possible. My court operates a drop in service so I just turned up the next day and it was over and down with rather quickly. I hope you manage to get the funds together and an appointment soon. Remember that you may only need to pay just the OR fees and not the court fees (if you qualify and that'll save you £150). Good luck.0
