I posted this previously on IVA board but that board doesn't seem to get that much attention so thought I would post it on here too in the hope that maybe one of you guys can offer some advice.
I am pre IVA and need to open a very basic business bank account to enable me to carry on trading does anyone have any suggestions of who to try

I opened many years ago, a business account with HSBC. No overdraft, but direct debits and standing orders, plus transfers could all take place in branch and online. A solo debit card came with it and my credit at the time was naff - I even told them that I expected to fail the check, but I didn't.
Very good - and the same as the basic account I hold now elsewhere really except it had the name business in the title. Went BR owing them £60 though ...

Thanks for that skylight, they are on my list. Encouraging to hear you managed to open one but in this climate I'm guessing I won't be so lucky, dreadful credit file and as I say going into an IVA, all I want is to be able to operate my business, enter an IVA and get myself sorted.0

If you go into Natwest and speak to a business manager they should do it for you. I was honest that my rating was poor and they opened it same day with solo card and cheque book. I also got two years free business banking they were very helpful.0

Unfortunately I am with Natwest at the moment so have to switch to someone else because of implications with IVA but thank you for your reply0
