financial hardship

i like so many have fallen into financial hardship.I am struggling to pay off my debt.on the forum it is stated that if you contact your lender and tell them that paying back the debt will cause FINANCIAL HARDSHIP then it can be written off.How do you prove to the lender that it will cause hardship and has anyone done this ????????

It wont be written off, but they may accept holiday break, reduced payments etc.

Contact your lender and complete and income and outgings form, this will show the lender how much you can afford afet mortgage, groceries, utlities etc
