Hi , we are thinking about having a conservatory put in , having bosched the idea of the garage conversion . I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for professional, reliable, trustworthy and obviously value for money conservatory suppliers and installers? We live in North London/Herts border. Also any advice re advatages/disadvantages of a conservatory.
Many thanks x

I worked with Everest for a few months. They will be the highest initial outlay, but, the long term value and service is there. If you want cheap, go elsewhere. If you want best value, IMHO you have to go for Everest, or, find a local tradesperson recommended by people you know and trust. What you have to decide, is how much risk you want to take with your money. Lots of risk with Cheapograbyourmoney and Run Ltd, to virtually no risk with Everest.

The reason I left Everest was that, like all other mainstream "house improvers," one had to sign up on the day to get the deal and I don't like "hard sell."

  • If you can find someone to help you install/build it I would recommend screwfix. You can get a free catalogue or they also have a website, even if you hire someone to build it at least you know what you are paying for the conservatory and also exactly how much the labour is costing.

We had a new conservatory installed last year and I cannot speak too highly of Baltic Pine Conservatories of Longrock, Penzance in Cornwall.

Although they did not actually erect the conservatory, they will do that and if their service is half as good as their advice re purchase and the quality of the product then you will be a very happy person.

They are timber conservatory specialists and everything comes with a 15 year guarantee. The visual impact of treated wood as against yucky UPVC has to be seen to be believed.

0800 0326 112 will bring yo u a free brochure and they will design for you free of charge.
