Re: Any point in carrying on?

I was discharged in June 2005.
I have since started a new life and have a new partner etc. I now want to look at a mortgage but every person I talk to states my partner can have it in his name but not with me on it. My credit file is fine as it is not listed so I cannot "clean it up". I do however have to disclose it as they ask the question. Having a house in my partners is pointless, I'ts the same as renting & i'll be paying more towards something I wont even own.
I'm beginning to wonder if i should just let them go and flee the country as I can't seem to start a new. All the FA's say although it goes after 6 years I'll never escape it as the question on mortgages is not when, but have you?
Has anyone had any sucsess with life afterwards and a mortgage or shall I book my tickets now?

Many members have sucessfully secured mortgages here in the past al be paying a slightly higher deposit than normal after around 2yrs or so discharge....there are people out there that could help it's a matter of finding one in the current financial climateWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Ask them to put you through anyway and see what happens. Its not just BRs, but the current finacial climate right now. Everyone is finding it difficult were mortgages are concerned even those with excellent credit and a deposit. It just makes things a bit more difficult for BRs. Its nothing personal.0

The term comes from the Old French "dead pledge," apparently meaning that the pledge ends (dies) either when the obligation is fulfilled or the property is taken through foreclosure.[1]0

Just a thought off the top of my head...
Your partner to take the mortgage out in his name, then you could put your name put on the title deeds to the property. (if you do it the 2nd way, you get better interest rate and the same entitlement to the house).0 -
Exactly what I was thinking Dave, you don't need to be on the mortgage to own part of the house.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
