Ridiculous Delivery Charges

Hi all,
I just wanted some advice...
I want to order the following voucher from Jamie Oliver:
Window Box Voucher

But the standard delivery charge is £5.00

I find this incredibly high for a voucher. It seems that the charges are the same no matter what you order, from a £2.50 packet of nuts to a £65 Oak Serving tray- delivery all charged at £5.00.

Do you think there is anyway I could get the postage charge reduced?

Really want to order the voucher but don't want to have to pay £5 delivery!

  • It looks like delivery is via courier service so that is a normal charge. A lot of companies use ciouriers as it is easier to track and also for insurance purposes. I can't see that they will change it as they have to pay the courier per delivery and it is a set charge.

    Don't buy it then.

Or, could you drive to the company HQ and collect the voucher? Would that cost you less than £5? If not then you would appear to be quids in by paying the delivery charge.

Standard gift certificate delivery is £2 - could you just buy a gift certificate to the same price as the item and suggest to the reciepient that you'd seen this item?

No company would use a courer to deliver the voucher just stick it in the post. You need to check if the person redeeming the voucher have to pay P&P on the stuff they get when they redeem the voucher if not they must simply be charging you a full £30 now to cover costs later but it is expensive for what you get. If you have to buy the voucher that I suppose that is what you have to pay but if you wan't anything else for yourself or someone else add it now and avoid the £5 in future.
No longer on Quidco but you may get 10% cashback as it is still on www.topcashback.co.uk.

Failing that email them to find out why £2 for a gift certificate but £5 for a 'voucher'
