Is student loan classed as income or benefit?

My main monthly income is from the Student Loans Company. Will the OR count this as "earned" income or as a benefit?

I have a feeling it is counted as income but not 100% on that. If it is your only or main income then I doubt whether you would get and IPA anyway.

It should also be noted that where a bankrupt is in receipt of a student loan this is not income which can be claimed under an IPA/IPO.

Thanks for the correction Fermi . I couldn't find that when I looked, but I do have mush for brains at the moment.

I know it won't be written off in the bankruptcy, just wondering whether or not I'll have to hand any of it over every month, which would leave me in pretty dire straits financially.
