Hello everyone
We are looking to get married spring 2010. I have already asked my bridesmaids who are my sister and 2 best friends. They are all dark haired and will generally suit most colours however Im not sure that they will all feel comfortable in the same style of dress. For example my sister would look fabulous in a Sex in the City style 'prom' dress but know that one of my other girls probably won't. I'll probably be getting the dresses made (have had a look on landy's website) and was looking for opinions on how it would look for the 3 of them to have the same colour but different styles of dresses?
Thanks!

Having different style dresses, but all the same colour can look really effective. I saw it on Grey's Anatomy and have (hopefully) put a photo below. If you're having 3 or more bridesmaids, i think it would look great. If you're only having 2 it might look odd.

Thanks for that! The bridesmaids at my sisters wedding all had different styles and it looked fine! I'm just looking for reassurances!!!! Do you think it's look odd if the dresses were different lengths????
Thanks!0 -
Looking at the Grey's Anatomy picture again, they all have similar or the same shoes and bouquets, so i think as long as the theme is there, you can play about with different lengths and styles. Everybody is different and suits different things, so if everybody individually looks great, just bring a theme into it to provide some kind of uniform, by keeping shoes, maybe hair styles or accessories and bouquets the same.0

I don't think it will look odd. Will look lovely and people will comment on it lots. Really nice you are considering the styles and shapes that suit your bridesmaids rather than just saying you are having this end of!! Good luck with the dress shopping

Mine are choosing their own dresses, I've given them suggestions and a colour scheme though. I'm not having a very formal wedding though.Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

alot of the brides i work with choose the colour for the dresses and the bridesmaids choose the style, but they have matching shoes accessories and bouquets.
i think as long as one doesnt choose a mini dress and another chooses and poofed out ballgown, you should be ok
