General Wedding Help

Hello. Wedding booked for June 12th 2010. Place we are getting married in does all flowers, choc fountain, chair covers, centrepieces, cars balloons.

Wondering what is an "average" price (we are in South Wales) for:

my boquet of silk roses (large)
Chair covers and sashes
serviettes
Top table decorated ribbon to match chairs
bridesmaids posies (x5) silk roses
buttonholes x6 silk rose(s)
Table centrepieces x10 (silk flowers), vases (rented)
3x 4 balloons for tables
1 big balloon that is popped at the end of 1st dance (with small balloons and bits in it)
a daimler and beauford car (15min journey)
Backdrop (LED)

Just wondering if anyone is having any of these things and how much are you paying?

the reason I ask is the wedding planner is giving us one round quote not an individual one as they say the more we get from them the cheaper it gets.

Thanks in advance for any help.
2012 wins: Panasonic home phone, Panasonic mobile phone, maple syrup and cookbook, £50 experience voucher, book, craft stuff, holiday in Ibiza, Dr Who Figures and 2 cinema tickets, bottle of Gin, 2X DVDs, Ipod touch, Moshi Monsters cay, Lipstick, Relaxation CD, £500 voucher for birdwatching holiday

Fingers crossed for an ITV win :D

  • Hi
I have seen on ebay chair covers and sashes for £1 each plus £50 delivery- you have to so them yourself though! Other cpmpanies who do them charge about £3-4 per cover in our area (north west).
Cars about £280 per car. Cant help on the others sorry- the price of florists is shocking me so I am getting quotes at the moment

  • I got a quote for a beauford which was about £375 and think a daimler was only slightly cheaper and it was a Monday .

We had a Chrysler 300 at £180 in the end which was still more than I wanted to pay but the chauffeur was fantastic when my hoop upended a full glass of champagne in it :p
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

Your planner should be able to give you individual quotes if you ask. I am in Birmingham and I will look at what my suppliers charge and give you a ball park figure for each if I can.

DIY Wedding Balloon Kits - http://www.ukpartyshop.co.uk/wedding_wedding_anniversary_diykits.html

    These give you an idea,

Exploder Balloons - I have seen on Ebay for £5.99 upwards inc postage & packing.

If you are renting the vases, can you rent the silk flowers as well? I know of one company that rents silk flowers but she won't deliver outside the Gloucestershire area which is a pain but there are bound to be other silk flower hire places.

Serviettes - paper ones can be bought in large amounts from the supermarket or even ebay or if you know someone with a Makro or Costco card then you can buy them there too.

Sami - this website has details of chair cover hire etc. Scroll down and you can find hire places in South Wales (they all have web addresses too).

    http://www.entsweb.co.uk/eventman/event-hire/index.htm

Car hire can vary especially if they have to travel a distance from their garage - they will charge extra for petrol on occasion.
  • Well she gave us rough quotes individually, but she said that the more we buy the less things get!!

Looks like we got it pretty cheap then as the beauford and daimler together is £375 and chair covers £2 each.

The flowers is the main thing im trying to price up.

And i will ask her for an individual list, but they did say they dont do it individually, just one main bill!!!

    thanks guys!x
