I just been up to our local farm to get some eggs, big beautiful brown, free range ones, all for a pound a dozen, we are so lucky, anyway im going to make up a batch of egg mayonnaise, can anyone tell how do to stop the thin black line from forming around the york when hard boiled

cooling them rapidly usually helps, I take the pot over to the sink & let the cold tap run on them. HTH0
