E: 31/01 - Win an Xbox 360 Arcade Console (slight effort)

Ok - have done a coupla searches, and I refuse to believe it's not already on here... but since it doesn't come up on a search...

http://www.skyuser.co.uk/skyusernews/january_competition_win_an_xbox_360.html

Your chance to win an Xbox 360 Arcade Console for posting ten or more posts on the SkyUser forums throughout January 2009

How to enter:

1) You must be a member of SkyUser to post your entry in this thread - if not already, you can sign up here
.

2) Contribute to SkyUser with a minimum of 10 none spammy posts during the month of January 2009 - These cannot be posts, like 'hello' or 'blah blah blah' - Genuine posts, including asking for help or helping others are welcome. See rule 9)

3) Live in the UK.

4) You do not have to be on or with Sky, as long as your minimum of 10 posts are genuine, then they would be classed as a valid entry.

5) You do not get any extra entries for doing more than 10 posts, ie if you do 100 useful posts, you do not get 10 entries.

6) Only the SkyUser Admins are excluded from entering this competition.

7) Please add a post to this thread, once you have achieved your minimum of 10 genuine posts, so that we have a record of your forum username.

8) No winner can win two consecutive prizes. For clarity, if you won in August, you would not be eligible to enter for September, but welcome to enter in October. (Although we would still appreciate it if you could continue posting in the none qualifying month)

9) Admins are the sole arbiters of eligible members (against existing criteria and intention).

10) The competition will close at midnight, 31st January 2009

11) We will publish a list of qualifying entrants on 1st February 2009, giving any member a chance to reaffirm their entrant to us via PM if they have been excluded for whatever reason. This will be a 24 hour period from the time of posting this list.

12) We will post an announcement with the winners name on 2nd February 2009 after 9pm on our forums.

13) Admins decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Any other clarifications needed, and to post your entry please visit the January Competition thread here

I posted the December 2008 (extended to 8th Jan comp) which was exactly same, prize and entry details, so wonder if this is monthly?
    Can anyone confirm?

As we attracted a larger amount of entries than previous competitions in December, we have decided to offer all of our members the chance of winning another Xbox 360 Arcade Console, valued at approx £130. (Obviously people like this sort of prize)

We have changed the rules of entry slightly, to avoid situations in which we found ourselves in last month's competition.
They just want to give another XBox away :D

Btw, note the requirement for an entry:
    2) Contribute to SkyUser with a minimum of 10 none spammy posts during the month of January 2009 - These cannot be posts, like 'hello' or 'blah blah blah' - Genuine posts, including asking for help or helping others are welcome. See rule 9)

Not at all, we were going to give Lost Seasons 1 - 4 on DVD away this month, to recognise the fact that Lost was returning back onto our screens. However, last month we had double the number of entries as normal, so we decided to redo the XBox prize.

However, reading this thread, we now know why the entries went up ;) Hence the rule changes.

At least if you are going to enter another websites competition please don't resurrect old posts or just post nonsense for the sake of entering a free competition, get involved and be a part of the community that we are trying to build up. You are all more than welcome.

The competition was kicked off to recognise those that actually used our forums for help or spending their time giving answers, not to attract users from all over the world, who post 10 posts, within 30 minutes, then reappear to check on the day of the results, and if they didn't win, never be seen again. That's not very British!

Yes it is a monthly competition, although the prize is not always the same item, but about the same or similar value.

So we should expect to see at least 28 entries from those who thanked the OP in this thread every month for the next few months then eh?
  • well, it was monthly for exlusive sky user's but if this continues , (exploitation) i can see them stopping, its very likely.
