The fuel supplier question is something I am intrigued about as well. I have just had my latest quarterly electric statement through. They had been estimated the past 9 months, this is the first actual reading for a while, and the bill is £300. I'd rather borrow the money somehow to pay it but do I still have to declare that I owe them money on my SOA? I'm worried that if the OR contacts them they will cease my supply. I am unable to have a pre-payment-card installed as my actual meter is in the basement of the shop next door and I don't have 24/7 access to it (I've already tried to do this).0

I promised a payment of 226 on the 2nd of Jan and true to my word I paid, I didnt go out of the house all Xmas and new year, I cut back on the kids Xmas prezzies.............I wish I ant av bothered, I hate them, I have asked for meters putting in, they said okay but pay us 100 first?????????????????? I said "I do not have £100, they said, In that case we will obtain a warrant to enter the property and disconnect, to which I replied "can you do that while 3 babies are living her" she replied "No but we can obtain a warrant to fit meters, you will be liable for the court costs"

Do you have a Landlord??? You should have a sub meter, where you can independantly switch off your gas (corgi requirement I believe)............Im a manager at a large lettings company.............and have come across this situation.0 -
Well if it helps I have heard that gas and electricity prices are due to drop within the 10 days.Money, money, money. Must be funny, in a rich man's world. :rolleyes:0

Keepmyhouse, has the or ever informed you of any of your tenants going BR, if so were any of them 'asked to leave' or anything similar?0 -

I only have electric. The landlord owns a row of four shops, and the four flats that are above each shop (one of which I rent). The meters for all of the properties are in the basement of one of the shops. I have an old-style fusebox in my bathroom (!) but that is all. The rep from Scottish Power who turned up to install my pre-paid meter said he wouldn't be able to do it when I explained where the meter was (I hadn't realised you physically needed to access them, I thought you topped-up the account like a PAYG phone for example!).0 -

I couldn't register it anyway, an idea that valuable would no doubt be taken away from me as a luxury asset during my court date next week.0 -

No never, and in all honesty if you have been a realible tenant most Landlords these days will be ok with it, the market is swamped with empty houses, because alot of immagrants gone home, some of our Landlords are taking in Bankrupt/bad credit tenants because they are desperate for the income.
We are getting letters from insolvency service for bankrupt Landlords, but thay are simply just asking for the rent to be sent to them.0
