Any recommendation on M&S food?

Hi everyone!

Currently trying to shift the Xmas pounds and don't get paid till Saturday so I've got a challenge to try and sort out two days worth of healthy food using £3.00 in change and a M&S giftcard with about £7.50 left on it.

I already have soup and bread in the house (lunch sorted) and cereal (breakfast sorted) so it's mainly main meals and snacks.

The £3.00 is going on Tesco food as follows:

12 Actimel 0.1% drinks - £1.00 (on offer and I have £1.00 off voucher)
Ryvita Limbos - 50p (on offer and I have 50p off voucher)
2 carrots - 16p
10 sprouts - 10p
Peas - 19p
1 pear - 20p
1 apple - 24p
1 clementine - 21p
Vegetable Soup - 17p

So I have £7.50 ish to spend in M&S which has to include 2 main meals and be low in calories and fat. As I don't shop there usually coz it's extortionate has anyone got any ideas/recommendations?

How many people are you feeding? Is it just you?
;) If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!
  • Just me although my boyfriend will have half the Limbos and Actimel I expect!

You could buy some fresh chicken breasts from M&S and then a little salad or more fruit.

Marks 'Count on Us' meals, which are very good, were on offer at the weekend (not sure if offer's still on). It was buy 2 get 1 free so you'd get 3 meals with your £7.50.
  • In the freezer section of marks, the peas and rice mix, peas and sweetcorn and petis pois are on buy one get one free and they are only about £1.00 or £1.10 so work out at 50p ish a packet. I think the frozen fish is also on buyone get one half price as well. At about 2.00pm or 2.30 pm they also do food reductions and sometimes you can get a bargain such as 2 fish cakes for a £1.00. It is worth looking in the freezer section as theare some good offers.. Hope this helps.
  • Any recommendations on the Count on Us meals? Particular favourites or anything?

There's a big range & to be honest I've enjoyed all I've tried. I'd go & see which might appeal to you.

the count on us spinach and ricotta cannelloni is yum :)
  • Thanks for all your replys!

Offer was still on the Count on Us range so I got a pack of the braised steak, a sweet and sour chicken and a ginger and lemon chicken plus a bag of salad.

If they taste as good as they look I reckon I may have to do a splurge once a week and grab a few more coz most low cal meals are pretty awful (except Asda stuff which I like - mostly!):T
