Philips 32" LCD HDTV - £550.00 Delivered !!

Hi,

Just found (and bought !!) this from the Dixons website:

http://www.dixons.co.uk/product.php?sku=887039

It's £597.00, but by making the order up to £600.00 (I bought some batteries to do this) you can use a discount code (found on this forum) to get £50.00 of the price. There's also another code (**deleted by Board Guide**) that gets the £19.99 delivery fee knocked off!! :j

£550.00 for a HD-Ready 32" LCD TV is a fantastic price (especially for a Philips branded one). Currys are selling the same TV for £999.00

Hope this helps a few people.

    It has neither.

Dixons, I suspect, are trying to pull a fast one on customers.

This is absolutely no use for Xbox 360 - no component or VGA inputs.

It does however have DVI-HDCP, so will work with HDMI equipment via an adaptor/cable which is about £20.

They're available with a London postcode, but not a Central Scotland one (if that helps anyone).

These look extremely tempting at this price, but based on a Google search of Philips model 32PF3320, these seem to be a Euro import as no-one else is selling them in the UK. Having said that there is nothing wrong with that, I think (?), and there is info on it in English on the Philips website.

It seems to be a recent model, launched late December 2005 according to one of the German websites.

My main question is whether the 1366 x 768 pixels resolution is good enough for this size of screen for general TV viewing ?

Response time seems to be 16Ms. It has Crystal Clear III and Nicam stereo but only virtual Dolby. Is that good enough on the sound ?

Be aware that picture in picture only allows computer graphics in the the inset screen.

The online price comparison sites are showing the lowest German price at around £750 and in France at £850, so this is a good deal.

Items ending in £7 are usually discontinued lines and you'd be lucky to find one.
