Nationwide won't let me pay the penalty and change products!

No, because they were never obliged to allow you to switch to the tracker. They haven't changed the terms, they've simply withdrawn an option which they never had to provide.0

Thanks Marky Mark, at least I know not to bother wasting my time with them, I'll just look for another lender!
Seems pretty bad considering Nationwide pride themselves on offering the same deals for existing customers and shout about it in every tv advert - but it's not actually true!
Thanks again.0 -
They aren't offering the tracker to new customers either, are they? So isn't your comment incorrect?0

well I thought they are offering fixed deals to new customers, which aren't available to existing customers unless you are coming to the end of your deal ...0

But that's because you are committed to your original deal. It's not the point they are making - which is that anyone who is free to leave their Nationwide deal, is able to have any deal someone free to leave their existing (non-Nationwide) lender is also able to have. That's still true AFAIK.0
