The city V The banks

It seems to me that the vested interests in the city ,the people in the know and others with maybe suspect interests have decided that every high street bank in the country should be under goverment control by attacking them one by one and leaving them no options left.
Does anyone out there feel really uncomfortable about this?
It will lead to a lack of competition and probably worse service in the end in my view.

Indeed only God knows where we will end up with the mounting debts of the banks being taken on by the taxpayer. Not that I see a real alternative in view of the financial meltdown which would follow the collapse of major bank. So many of the hypothetical discussions I have seen on MSE are now becoming reality and I can't see it getting better anytime soon. Indeed it is going to get worse, perhaps much worse and we are going to be in very difficult times indeed. As for the City and the banks I don't blame the City (stock brokers, fund managers, corporate and individual investors) for what seem to be the very real problems of the banks.0
