what happens to ccjs when you go BR

I got my first claim on Monday, is this already a CCJ? or does it only become a CCJ once I reply to it?
What happens to any pending CCJ's or current CCJs when I go bankrupt, do I still owe these? Or are they classed like my other debts and I'm free after one year?
Thanks

I take it that you have received the court papers that you need to fill in and return?? The papers that the creditor sends stating that they claim this amount from you. This is the start of the process so a CCJ has not yet been applied.
You need to respond within a certain amount of time (2 weeks I think) and I would defend the claim (do you have a reason? No proof of debt? You could try that one) and also state that you are declaring yourself BR on xxx date. They will then be unlikely to take it any further.
If a CCJ is issued, plus any issued in the past, will not be payable after BR. All these debts will be included in BR. There are only a handful of debts that are not included - CSA arrears, student loans, court fines.0 -

I managed to get a solicitor a couple of weeks back to write to everyone I owe about 8 companies, and this one was included it's actually a university. Of all the companies, this is the only one that refused to aknowledge that I couldn't pay them at present (I'm unemployed) - and wouldn't take my token monthly payment until I find employment.
So I'm not sure I can dispute it, as we've written them offering a token payment - I guess I could dispute the amount if that will help?
I don't anticipate actually going BR for about 4 weeks, as that's how long it will take me to save the amount of money needed to go BR.
What do you think? Should I just aknowledge this and make the same token payment offer? Or should I dispute the amount and wait for them to send me a breakdown of the amounts?
Also you mention putting on their about me going BR, should I do this? The court local have a 'sit and wait' service, so you just pick what day you want to go and wait, do I put this date as the day I'm going BR? Or is the actual day you go BR some date in the future after that?
