  • Just got home from a shopping trip to Tesco, im still not used to going to the store as I always used to do it online, but with my co-op Visa electron iv heard this is no longer an option, anyway, shopped last week no problem but this week my card was refused :( I knew I had enough money in the account to cover it £300 and bill was for £72 felt very embarrassed when she asked for another payment method... erm hello didnt have a credit card! I asked if I could try again and luckily the second time it was accepted no idea why, pin was right the first time, problem is iv now lost faith in it! I go beetroot red at the slightest thing and if id have had to leave without the shopping id have never have entered the store again! anyone else had problems with the electron card?

Please don't loose faith in the card. It could have been the machine didn't connect correctly to the system or something stupid like that. As you said it worked correctly the 2nd time. Don't be embarrased by this, as shown it wasn't a problem with your card at all and I doubt they judged you.

If you really are panicking about this then get yourself something like a pre-paid credit card. There are several on the market like the Paypal one, Cashplus, Virgin and if you go through Quidco or Topcashback you could get some money for applying for it. Also with one of these you can shop online again.

Don't worry thats happened to me a few times...!

I like using cash now as it goes straight out of my coop bank account, were if you use, a card in Tesco is can take up to four days to show that moneys gone out of account.

Ialso like using the self service as you can see what your spending without asking ....!

I also use my super market online and print off shopping list.

As my card wount go through online...
