Vistaprint

I looked on this site before and now they keep bombarding me with freebies - e.g. 250 free business cards, free adress stamp, free logo t -shirt etc. I have had to pay postage of about £3 but otherwise just ordered fee stuff. Seems too good to be true - does anyone know anything about this company/ ordered stuff before?

I've ordered many things through them for work. They seem to offer so many different offers. But be careful, if you do order the 'free tshirts, stamps, cards etc' they do alter the postage/taxes to make up for it.

If you're ordering something you really need do that first, then see how the additional 'free' items alter the postage. I added a 'free' tshirt which put the postage up by £3.50. - so not really free.

Oh and don't forget to go through Quidco.

I have ordered from them before and all v good.
I have ordered birth announcements, Christening invites and thank you cards with photos on.

As has been said before watch the postage costs. The items themselves are very good though, in my experience.
The other drawback, which you are already experiencing, are the numbers of emails you receive from them!
  • Have investigated further on another forum and it seems lots of people have been caught out by unwittingly signing up to a subscription and only realising once money is debited from their accounts. However I rang customer services to check and they assure me I haven't taken out a subscription. I think it must be if you sign up to their points scheme. Oh well, I'll wait and see but a good offer if it's true!

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I guarantee that you have signed up for something you do not realise. Watch your bank statements!! There are numerous threads on this company on this site which you need to look at.

The only thing I will say in their favour is that they do refund the payments they take if you complain. They just hope you dont realise you are paying something a month as it looks all official on your bank statement.

I agree, go carefully - we unwittingly signed up to part of some club or other (in the small print -didn't uncheck a box or something) and they took just under £10 a month (small amount that went unnoticed) for several months before we clicked.

In fairness to them they DID refund all the money, but we could have done without the hassle.

We always check our statements thoroughly now!

i dont understand why people say this. as long as you READ before you click confirm you will have no problems at all. these people usually dont read or sign up for the 'freebies' that they offer with one month free trial.

Ive never had any problems with them, theyre great and i recommend them :)

If you can manage to read your screen and dont rush through it you wont get caught out :);)

You hit the nail on the head. You need to be good at reading what is implied as well as what is stated explicitly. The company that runs these "schemes" goes out of its way to dress them up as anything but what they really are.

People are encouraged to accept offers (in the case of VistaPrint I believe it's a £10 cashback offer). that in no way imply any continuing obligation. It's only in the small print, on a different page, that you find out what is actually involved. As a result, the company behind this makes extremely large amounts of money (their website claims that it's fast approaching $1billion:eek:) from people who do get caught out.
