Help with Inland Revenue please

Hi everyone

A little bit of advice needed please.

My second job has now come to an end, hence the question of BC, just waiting for my phone interview with CCCS on Monday.

Obviously I will have to do a self assessment tax return in April 2009 for the last years work, but if this is after BC, will it be taken into account and how will I pay it. Hope this makes some sort of sense.

Thanks again guys for your help.

If you are going BR any tax you owe will fall into it. I had a limited company and a sole trader business. My ltd co didn't have any accounts because I couldn't afford an accountant and my sole trader business only had incomplete accounts - again because I couldn't pay. My accountant became one of my creditors. I simply told the OR the truth that I couldn't afford it and he accepted that.

When are you thinking of going BR?

But your debt would be included in BR.

  • Thanks for that guys. Hopefully will be going BC next month, once everthing sorted out. Would I still have to send in the self assessment form to get a figure of how much I will owe? Obviously this will be after BC, so how would I put this down on forms if I don't know how much.

Sorry for being a bit dim, not too good at these sorts of things.

    Thanks again.

    Hi SN,

Ask this at you CCCS appt on Monday....All monies owing at time of BR will fall into that BR so I assume that even if a SA is requested it will form part of your bankruptcy.

    HTH,
    Angel
  • Self assessment for april 2007 to march 2008 needs submitted by end jan

I done mine last week so it can be included in my bankruptcy

Once i am made BR my new self assessment i have been told cannot be included for april 2008 to march 2009
  • Thanks for that Angel, will speak to them on Monday.

Betterlife, I have already sorted 2007 - 2008, its the 2008 - 2009 one that I am worried about as have no way to pay it. Any ideas?
  • The 2008-2009 can only be filed after april 5th so this cannot be included in your bankruptcy i was told
However the inland revenue are very good and you can arrange a repayment plan for up to 3 years
  • Heckety heck, thats not good news. Will i be able to put these payments down on SOA or is this not feasible?

    Thanks again.
