Very sorry to read your sad news, Jockett.

Whlst writing, though it seems of comparatively little importance, I just placed my four bets, but the RC site is even slower than usual. Well, it would be: it is coping with nearly four times the activity than before, I suppose.

OK, here's my tips for today. "5 points win - W 5" on each and hopefully at least two with win!?!

    14:30 - Wolverhampton, Harry Up

14:40 - Warwick, Ring The Boss

    15:40 - Warwick, Oscar Jack

    19:20 - Kempton, Slip

    Army.

The first two are winners hooray and thanks
  • 22/01/09, 14:40, Warwick, Ring The Boss – 5 (1st of 5 at 10/11)
    22/01/09, 14:30, Wolverhampton, Harry Up – 5 (1st of 6 at 4/7)
    22/01/09, 15:00, Wolverhampton, Desert Bump – 5 (1st of ...)
    22/01/09, 19:20, Kempton, Slip – 5 at SP

    so far so good:D can I get 4 out of 4 though:rolleyes:
  • Just a little though on the new racecaller format - I guess this is of interest to those who only luck for winners each day for the PP and not those who go for top tipster.

With there being only 300 points to gamble with each month and now we need 2 winners of 4 most of us will definitely be picking 4 a day. Prior to the change I only put 5 points on 1 favourite to ensure that a) my racecaller points would not run out each month and b) that i had the best chance of picking a winner each.

The problem is that when picking winners you get such a little return with regards racecaller points. Now if I were to gamble 20 points each day over a 30 day month thats 600 racecaller points - remembering we only get 300. So realistically, If lets say I pick at best half the winners I go for (of the 4 a day) my racecaller points will run out well before the months end. I hope someone follows my logic here so far....

So with this is mind is it not best to, rather than picking all 4 at once, just picking 2 favourites from the earlier races and if they win then theres no need to bet on any further races as we ave the PP in the bag. If one or both doesnt win then we put on 2 bets on later races. This kind of worked out for me as i went with Jesa's 4 favourites - the 2 earlier races won so I got my PP and the 2 later tips that he/she (sorry don't know if you're a lad/lass) were NR so i got my points back.

My God this is a ramble, does anyone follow me though? Please say you do :rotfl:

Just wanted to say so sorry to hear your news Jockett
  • That is very good advice p_larkin99. Today I bet on 4 races but my 1st and 3rd bets won so my final bet a whole hour after the others need not have been placed. So I will be putting this advice into effect tomorrow. ;)

    hi all..

Today i have placed a bet for my dad (David33) on racecaller, as some of you might remember he was ill towards last year and he used to pick his horses from hospital and my sister would text me them and i would put them on. Today will be the last time as sadly he has passed away. I have done todays as he wanted and i dont really care if they win or lose .. i will close his account with both racecaller and pigsback at the end of the month..
Sorry to hear of your loss. We will all be thinking of you.
