in Cutting tax
Have just recieved a coding notice with two letters in it,one saying my new tax code for year 6 April 2008 to 5 April 2009 is 641L which replaces 603L.
It also says earlier years adjustment is £318,and this is included in my new tax code.
Does this mean i dont get refunded this money?
I remember sending a letter about washing my work uniforms away some months ago, totally forgot all about it!!
Would be pretty handy to get this cash in a lump sum, seems pretty confusing to me!!!
Thank you if you can help!!!

Can we have a breakdown of the code number? Normally it is underpayments taht are collected through an adjustment in the tax code. On this tax code change your tax will be lower by £63 approx in January and about £6.30 per month thereafter.0

The exact breakdown of the new code is as follows:
My Personal Allowance £6035
Flat Rate Job Expenses +£60
Earlier Years Adjustment +£318
A Tax Free Amount of £6413
So i take it i will be getting it back just as you confirm, rather than all at once?0 -
It definitely does - good luck.0
