holiday and bankruptcy?

Hi, currently in the process of getting ready to file for bankruptcy and a little unsure as to a what the official reciever is likely to take from us. My daughter was very ill last year and so when she came home from hospital we booked to take her on a holiday of a lifetime this year. Since that time we have obviously been badly affected by the current economic climate and had to close our business and get back on the job ladder. Will the official reciever take this holiday from us? :confused:Do we have to declare it to him/her? any feedback would be gratefully recieved.

  • you have already paid for the holiday? If yes, the OR cannot take it from you. Dont mention it to them, but if they pick up on it explain it was booked after your daughter was ill, at the time you were abel to repay your debts.
  • Hi, i went BR in Dec, i was worried about my hols, i'd been on hol 4 times in the previous year, only for 3 nights on city breaks as being a teacher it was cheaper doing it that wa than taking 2 weeks in Cuba or Mexico during school hols which i s where i would or rather gone. But anyway holidays were raised in the interview and i explained where i'd gone since Dec, and they wrote it down and nothing beyond that. I must add i was earning enough at the time to go on hol and service my debts, And at the time i never thought i'd be going bankrupt in a matter of months later, hindsight is always 20:20.
  • Hi, thanks for the replies, yes the flights are already paid for back in june last year and our friends are supplying the accomodation, it probably sounds a bit ridiculous to be worrying about a holiday when so many others are struggling with day to day living, but this is the one thing we are looking forward to that is keeping us going at the moment. Thanks for your input once again, much apprecated. :o

How on earth can a teacher be in a position to go bankrupt? not making a judement call here but on the surface it beggers belief.

Steve that's a rediculous question to be honest.

There are people on much larger salaries than teachers who have gone bankrupt before and there will be many more in future. Please don't make posts like that, it doesn't help anyone at all.

    Don't feed the trolls!

The question is whether the OP was a troll or not.

But if this forum is not for discussing the issues, then I'll delete my post.

I need some clarity on the rules.

It states quite clearly this forum is for support and advice. If you've got neither to offer then don't post here.
