Bankrupcy abroad

Hi, I'm not sure if anybody can help me with this but here goes. I bought a property in Spain which was rented out Unfortunatley I was conned and was left 2 months in arrears, with all utitlity bills. I have, since last year misssed one further payment and recently missed Decembers. Now with the euro as it is against the pound, I will struggle with everyday life if I continue with the repayments. I am aware that the house will be repossesed if it already hasn't been. My question is should I stop paying the mortgage. What will happen I am worried about all the legal issues and any come back in the future. I know many others are in this situation, especially those who purchased property from the same source as me and was swindled as I was. Thank you.

Hi Lesley and welcome. Do you live in the UK? Have you sought advice from one of the debt charities like CCCS, National Debtline or CAB? I think a call to one of them would be the first thing you need to do. They should be able to let you know your options.
