Question re: Littlewoods.

Hi, i ordered something from Littlewoods with a £50 off first order code I found on the internet. I then panicked about it not actually being issued to me and didnt want them to charge me an extra £50 somewhere down the line and so I cancelled the order.
I have received 2 monthly statement now, both of which state my account is £50 in credit. I have now received a '£10 off if I spend over £50 before ...sometime in Feb'.
What are the chances of them taking off the £50 I am in credit by?? Do you think it is safe to spend £60 and it be free?
Thanks.

I certainly would not spend it, leave it on there. I am sure they will take it off soon enough. If you spend it, you may have to pay it back later on and it could be at the worst moment.
I ordered something and used a code off a laptop, If they do want the money back then at least I want it anyway otherwise it is a huge saving. I have taken the risk on this but I would not spend credit that does not rightfully belong to me.No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Hi, thanks for that. You have just said what I was thinking but think I needed someone else to tell me..lol.
I was wondering if the £50 was just a first order code for anyone who ordered through them. Its doing no harm just sitting there...you never know, if its there long enough then I may phone them to ask if I can spend it..lol

Not sure as far as I have seen the first time order codes are either £10, £30 or 10% off. Never heard of a £50 first order code, maybe their is one. I could be wrong.
Don't waste your phone bill ringing them about this credit yet.
I would leave it 3 months and then ring up if it is still there and act dumb and say I noticed there is a credit on my account, I thought it was just a clerical error but it has been there a while. Is it mine to spend?

Give it a couple of months and ask them to send you a cheque. And then get what you want somewhere cheaper!0

Yeah, they did a £50 off your first spend of over £50 or something for new customers- there was a page up somewhere on the forums a few months back- people couldn't believe it as it felt too good too be true- did turn out OK in the end for them, but no one had cancelled their orders.
Personally? having seen from others how Littlewoods do seem very rigourous with thier accounts, and any money that was not promised to you/if you did not carry out your side of the deal, they will claim back, even if it means charging you twice the amount (eg people who were not new customers tryied using the code and found the discount was not applied to thier actual bank account debit) so be aware! as long as your following the rules, it seems you have nothing to fear- though not done it myself, this is what I have gathered from watching others.
I would see if there is anything you actually need from Littlewoods for the £60 you are thinking about spending- though do your price checks as in my experience (and the reason I have never shopped there) Littlewoods tend to charge upwards of 30% extra then high street stores, double in some cases.
Or you could order, assume the money will come from your account, and if it doesn't, you win! But don't use it for a month so you can return it should they change their mind and send you a bill.0 -
the £50 off £50 code was ZG674...but it only worked for several days at te beginning of december because everyone cottoned on and started using it. i used it on about six different accounts and they haven't taken it back...yet. did it over the phone and they were quite happy with it. wouldn't ring them yet..just see what happens.Won't buy nuffink without a discount
