Intuit.co.uk and intuit.com sound like the right domains...

You'll get a link email to you from the domain. The link given points to edgesuit.net and looks to download a 2008 version . Not sure if it restricted in terms of number of customers etc.

There's a link on the site to download a 2009 version of similar size with "direct" in its setup filename and max 20 customers.

320MB though so it would be a longish download.

On Intuit.co.uk you can download the free for 3 days simplestart Quickbooks 2008 via their link.

On Intuit.com the USA version you can download the Simplestart Quickbooks 2009 via their link. Only issue is that the USA is in Dollars and has completely different terminology for suppliers etc etc.

I have always used the Simplestart 2006 version (downloaded from Intuit.co.uk 2 years ago) and find it covers everything I need for my small business for tax return and financial repoorts. I almost bought the 2008 version last week when 2006 version would not load on Vista, but found a workaround. They gave me no indication that they were doing this offer for 3 days. Lucky I said no to their sales banter.

You can download, install and then Intuit will email you a registration code within a couple of working days to enable the full Simplestart Quickbooks 2008.

Saves us all about £40 !

It looks like they are about to launch Simplestart 2009 on the Intuit.co.uk site, so I suppose 3 days of free downloads of the 2008 version may create some interest for their new one. Or if you are regular MSE forum members ... the free 2008 version will do just fine ! :rotfl:

Thanks for this OP! I used Quickbook and Quickbook Pro while living in the states. They were excellent programs for home and business.

Got my registration unlock codes from Intuit today and am now the proud owner of Quickbooks Simplestart 2008 software.

Get in their quick ... you just have today to download for free !

It will go back up to £40 charge from 23rd Jan.
