I've paid my mortgages without fail on time for 21 years, had a one year break a few years ago but made the mistake of not checking my statements at the end of 2008 & as a result found out in a phone call from Nationwide that I'd missed payments in Nov & Dec. I paid the whole lot by credit card over the phone instantly. I havent had any written advice bounced payments from my bank (that I'm aware of).
Is there anything I can do to restore my previously spotless credit rating?

There is nothing you can do to amend your credit file as it contains factual information about the way you conducted the mortgage account.0
