Single or Married Pension?

Sorry don't know if I should post here or on Benefits Board.
Husband is about to retire and should receive full state pension.
I'm 52 and don't work, but have an income from rental properties, about £10K profit a year
(Accountant put this income in my name to be tax efficient)
My question is should DH claim pension for himself and then for me as a dependant ?
If I was working and earning £10K I don't think he could claim for me.
We don't want to claim any thing we are not entitled to,
Thank you

I cant see how you can claim anything as pension credit it based on household income and the value of your savings and investments. Your income alone blows you out of the water as far as pension credit is concerned.
There is also no such thing as a married pension. Pension credits though are based on household income rather than single income. Your state pension wont apply until you are of state pension age though. How much is yours likely to be?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). A male state pensioner with a dependant under state pension age can claim a dependant's allowance, which is the same at the 60% state pension that a wife of pension age can claim based on her husband's contributions. This will be phased out in 2010, but is still current.
But I am pretty sure this dependant's allowance is not paid if the wife has income above a certain level and that the OP's income will rule it out. Check with the Pension Service.Trying to keep it simple...

I wasn't sure if income from property is classed the same a income from work. (thought it might be investment income)
I don't think we qualify for pension credit
