phone barclaycard back as say you keep the account open as long as they give you the 0% for 10 month on Balance Tranfers just like the new customer deals they are currently offering.
then BT across the highest credit card debt to Barclaycard.
    If not get rid.

Last year we spent nearly 8k on a family holiday to Florida, not on cc's we had saved up for it. Although I have no regrets about going last year we are no longer going on holiday this year, our debts are the priority,

Although we have a family tent and I expect we'll go camping in the summer :D

Well this will surprise you WE did the same last year saved the holiday money in the Halifax 7% and bought the holiday on the sainsbury's credit card paid it all off in Dec.Broke my finger at Wet & Wild but still had a great time, didn't spent as much as you but had change outof £4000.

The youth hostel sounds a good idea, I'll look into that one. Our children - 15, 7 and 2 are very outdoorsy and like the idea of camping. We still want to go to Vancouver so we'll keep that our goal for 2008. I used that snowball calculator - excellent link. According to that we'll be debtfree March 2008. This is AMAZING!! :j :j :T :T I would have thought it would take us about 10 years to get rid of it but I have printed it out and studied it hard and it seems we really can do it if we continue to pay off our debts as we currently are doing. It is a major incentive for us. Well me anyhow, I am and have always been in charge of our finances, hubby is interested and I have shown him where we are at but at the end of the day he needs to know how much we have to spend on food/petrol/spending money each month I am the obsessive one with the spreadsheets, microsoft Money and now the snowball calculator!! :D
    Thanks guys, you've been great!

    Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T
  • Welcome themaccas. Good luck in paying off your debt, try selling things on ebay/amazon as well which will make your debt free date come a little bit sooner. You made me chuckle a little then as I am also the one who works out all the finances and I get a bit obsessive sometimes. As long as my husband has some money in his pocket he is happy.
