Taking a gamble

We have been in rented now for two years with a private landlord and never missed a rent payment, they have always been on time. Hubby becomes discharged in March (cannot wait).
Decided we need to move as area we are in is not the greatest. We are putting in our application today for a house. We have admitted bankruptcy on the forms as requested but have not mentioned to agent when we were showed round. I think we will be declined but we are taking the gamble to see if we can move, fingers crossed:cool:

You may be OK as you're already renting and have a good history. Did you put your current LL on the forms for references?
It seems to be harder to get somewhere if you're going into rented for the first time whilst BR.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
yes put down current letting agent as reference. I thought that reference would look good. I have sent forms recorded so if they are going to say anything I am sure it will be tommorrow as the house belongs to the owner of the letting agents we are going through.
The funny thing is that financially now we are more secure and have managed to have a little bit of savings now hubby has no debts, so we will leave it up to them.:D0 -
Just to let you all know there is hope out there. After a worrying couple of days and speaking to the letting agents regarding hubbys BR they have agreed to let the property to us for an intial year. They asked me this morning for a guarantor, I said no and thought that would be it. They then telephoned and agreed without a guarantor and no extra payments just the normal one months in advance.:j
I was honest on forms and I think that is what swung it for us, so please anyone who thinks their situation seems bad things can get better. Last year I was sooo down and now I am moving to the country for a new life.0 -
